At Steadfast Training Solutions, our mission is to deliver the highest level of in-demand training, guided by a student-first philosophy. Every course we offer is designed with the learner’s experience in mind, ensuring relevant, practical and effective instruction that sets a benchmark for quality and success.
Our story began with over 15 years of leadership in public safety training, developing specialized programs to meet industry needs across western Canada. From creating security-focused courses and mentoring instructors at MacCon Public Safety to teaching the Alberta Basic Security Training (ABST) program at Columbia College, our foundation is built on real-world expertise and a passion for education.
In 2020, Steadfast Training Solutions was launched to provide specialized training directly, beginning with the highly sought-after PPCT (Pressure Point Control Tactics) course and expanding into advanced offerings in Loss Prevention and Officer Safety.
With over 20 years of security sector experience, more than 7,000 students trained and 285 courses delivered, our team brings deep subject matter expertise in use of force, tactical communication and adult education. We’re committed to creating safe, engaging and flexible learning environments where every student feels supported and challenged. Our attention to detail—both in content and in delivery—reflects our core belief: when students succeed, so do our clients.
We measure our success not just in numbers, but in impact—the moment a student successfully completes a technique, the return of past students for recertification, and the powerful feedback from those who’ve experienced training elsewhere. MEET LARRY
Larry Wheaton is the Owner and Lead Instructor of Steadfast Training Solutions.
Larry’s most notable strength is his 'high energy' delivery style that flows naturally with ease and humor. Students will immediately appreciate this environment improving their retention to ensure their success.
Additionally, Larry’s unique ability to create customized multi-media content makes all his classes come alive from the student’s visual, auditory and tactile perspective. With his eclectic background including Military (7-yrs), Law Enforcement (5-yrs), EMS (8-yrs) and Security (20+yrs); Larry adds credibility, relevance and experience to all his courses.
Larry has been featured on local Calgary news programs over the years (Global 7, CTV and CBC) commenting on security-related matters and is a member of ASIS (American Society for Industrial Security) and ILEETA (International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association).
